TOURISM SOLOMONS CEO

                        'JO' - TOURISM SOLOMONS CEO

Please permit me to give you just a little background.

I want you to take a good look at Jo. Look at him! Now, what's Jo got that the rest of you haven't? Jo earned five hundred times the average, but is Jo five hundred times smarter? No, not according to SIVB tests. I checked. They showed he's about average in that department.

And did Jo worked five hundred times harder than you fellows? No - not according to SIVB reports. In fact, he took more time off than most of you!

Did Jo have a better territory? Again I've got to say no. Did Jo have more education? Better health? Again, no. Jo is about as average as an average guy could be except for one thing. The difference between Jo and the rest of you is that Jo thought five hundred times more than you think.

Now, why doesn't everyone think that way? I've been asked that question many times. Here, I believe, is the answer. All of us, more than we recognize, are products of the thinking around us. And much of the thinking is less, not more.

All around you is an environment that is trying to tug you, trying to pull you down back street guru class. You are told almost daily that there are "too many Fijians" and not enough Indians! In other words, that opportunities to lead no longer exist, that there is a surplus of Fijians, so be content with the Indians!

But, this "too many Fijians" idea, simply doesn't square with the truth. Leading people in all occupations will tell you, as they've told me, that the trouble is, there are too many Indians and not nearly enough Fijians!

This pettily petty environment also says that "whatever will be will be," so lie down and wait to die. I, on the other hand - an inconvenient voice, to my colleagues in Tourism Solomons, perhaps. Please pardon my articulation, but rest assured, you have brought to our minds an awareness.

Now, I dare you! Think like the very finest minds yet to live on planet Earth. Minds like prophet Solomon, who wrote; "As one thinketh in his heart, so is he." Minds such as Emerson, who said; "Great men are those who see that thoughts rule the world." Minds like Milton, who in Paradise Lost wrote; "The mind is its own place and in itself can make a heaven of hell or a hell of heaven!" Amazingly, perceptive minds like Shakespeare, who observed; "There is nothing either good or bad except that thinking makes it so."

But where does the proof come from? How do we know the master thinkers were right? Fair questions. The proof comes from the lives of the select people around us, who, through winning success, achievement, and happiness, prove that the Hapi Isles does work magic!

Look at it this way, study the fellow who is shuffling down there in mediocrity, in back street guru class. He thinks he is worth less, so he receives less. He thinks he can't do big things, and he doesn't. He thinks he is unimportant, so everything he does has an unimportant mark. As time goes by, lack of thinking more than you think shows through in the way the fellow talks, walks, acts.

Unless, he or she adjusts advancing forward, he or she, shrinks! Grows less and less, in his or her own estimation. And, since others see in us what we see in ourselves, he or she, grows lesser in the estimation of the people around him, or her.

Now look across the way at the person who is advancing forward. Look at Tourism Solomons CEO, for instance, look at Jo! He thinks he is worth much, and he receives much. He thinks he can handle big, difficult assignments - and he does. Everything he does, the way he handles himself with people, his character, his thoughts, his view points, all say; "Here is a professional. He is an important person."
